Small yards made big, for every kid
The client is always in mind. Originally the request was for flowerbeds, plantings, and a few feet of additional turf in the back, however, with some conversation about their child, age 2, and another on the way, we added flat, turfed space to the design. The backyard here sloped away quickly from the home quickly ending brambles and scrub. This area has been perfect for the toddlers as the original slope was formidable for them. Erosion and high tides caused issues for the homeowner. This was addressed with thoughtful bed placement, a retaining wall, and rip rap.
Grading, shading, dog's awaiting. A good sod job should enhance your drainage and soil conditions. The right turf type for your conditions is essential. This client's large dogs needed a place to play, but would have ruined new sod before it established. Here we divided the yard, waited for the first sod installation to establish, then came back and reversed the fence. Happy Dogs!
Drainage planning with the right plantings are critical with today's torrential rains. Quick walk through of a downtown project in the works.
